After no face-to-face teaching time, it feels quite strange and so I am looking forward to heading back to my school, Lynmore Primary. I aim to be more observant and more truthful about my teaching practise. I plan to ask some colleagues to work with me on this because I need help with it.
One teacher and educator, who I have a lot of time for, is Bruce Hammonds. I was on a residential literacy course with Gail Loane and Penny Brownlee, way back in 1991. There I met Bruce, who was a visiting presenter in the course. He had beautiful artwork with him and we all ooeh and aaeh, to which he added, “I left a lot of them behind.” It is easy to do that…measure your insides against someone`s outsides. He was saying, not all of the work was of a high quality and that is one thing Bruce Hammonds always delivers…high quality everything.
Here is a link to his blog, Leading and Learning. I highly recommend it.
I hope you enjoy reading his blog with his “high quality” motto running through all of the articles, readings and recommendations.
